Stereopanoramas with Samsung Gear 360

Some experiments with this camera using the depthmap method outlined here. The basic workflow comprises three steps:

The 2016-model of the camera (Samsung SMC 200) was used. The source images for the first panorama are stitched by Samsung's Gear 360 app, those for the second one with a customized version of my software PTStitcher. The nadir regions of both panoramas and the seam in the second one are edited. The images are displayed in a new version of PTViewer3d, which has been updated to handle more platforms including several browsers on smartphones.

This looks like a fast and simple way to create stereo-panoramas. With a synchronized two-camera-setup, this might well be suited for stereoscopic panoramavideos.
